Pop Up Cafe

St Francis @ the Engine Room runs a Pop-Up Café every Thursday afternoon during term time on the Ferry Lane Estate from 3.30pm – 5.00pm. It was created as a platform to promote unity between Ferry Lane Estate and Hale Village by providing a weekly central meeting point families of both sides of Ferry Lane.
During the winter season, sessions are held in the community hall of Ferry Lane Primary School. Weekly activities include seasonal arts and crafts, board games, giant Jenga Blocks and reading corner for children, Family games and mind game challenges like sudoku, word search and crosswords. Light hot refreshments are all supplied free of charge.
Summer Activities take place in the nearby communal park as soon as the weather gets warmer (and the grass is cut!), where we can enjoy sitting, chatting with other residents under the trees or joining in with the various activities out door games such as badminton, football, parachute games for the younger children, outdoor craft activities. Light refreshments are served from our gazebo.
So drop by for a chat with Father Andrew or Maria our Church Community Worker, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with cake or a biscuit or a cup of soup with bread. Join in stimulating conversation with other local parents or volunteer to assist running one of many activities, serving behind the kitchen counter, craft activities or even playing football!
